InterGest was founded in 1972 with a minimum capital of FF 20,000 as a Sàrl (société à responsabilité limitée, equivalent to limited company) in Sarreguemines, France, by Dr. jur. Heinz Anterist.
Dr. Anterist had been working as a legal advisor for the transport company Anterist & Schneider and had become aware of the fact that clients needed a lot more than just logistic services in order to be able to sell in foreign countries. They also required assistance in establishing subsidiaries, book keeping, customs clearance, legal and tax matters.
Dr. Anterist searched for a provider of such services, but without results. He decided to fill the gap himself by launching a specialist business. The idea of InterGest was born.
The name InterGest derives from the French job description "Gestion Internationale" – international management.
